A pleasant surprise found within the relatively new developments of North Shoebury. Still surrounded by open farmland until the coming of the new Asda superstore in the 1980s, and not until the late 1990s finding itself almost completely surrounded by housing, the church still retains a feeling of isolation. This is helped by being at the rear of the Asda supermarket, and due to an abundance of trees to the North of the church yard. The church shows clear signs, inside and out, of a previous South aisle, as evidenced by the piers and arches in the existing south wall.
