Near this place are interred the remains of JOHN LOCKWOOD Esq., second son of RICHARD LOCKWOOD of Dems Hall in this County. He married Matilda, second daughter of Edward Conyers Esq. of Copt Hall in Essex by whom he has one daughter, Matilda, born April 8th 1763 now living.This memorial was erected by his afflicted widow in the year of our Lord 1778.In the same vault are since deposited the remains of the above mentioned Matilda Lockwood, widow who surviving her husband upwards of sixteen years, dies June 3rd 1793 in the sixty-seventh year of her age.
