In memory of GEORGE PALMER Esquire of Nazing Park, in the county of Essex, oldest son of the late WILLIAM and MARY PALMER.   A Deputy Lieutenant and Magistrate for the County of Essex, also a Magistrate for the County of Hertford he served as High Sheriff of Hertfordshire in 1818, and in 1836 was returned to Parliament for South Essex which division he represented in three successive parliaments.   A firm supporter of the Constitution in Church and State, ever watchful for the protection of all British interests, especially agriculture, shipping and commerce. He was distinguished in times of great political changes by independence of party, and straight-forward integrity and earned the gratitude of the Maritime Profession (in which he has served in early life with distinction in the Service of the Honorable the East India Company), by successfully introducing a beneficial measure to lessen the occurrence of fatal disasters at sea.   He retired from Parliament in the year of 1847 but still laboured for the preservation of life from Shipwreck. Closing a life guided by Religion and Duty as a loyal Subject, faithful Friend and affectionate parent on the 12th day of May 1853 in the 82nd year of his age.   Also in memory of ANNA MARIA his widow, daughter and co-heiress of WILLIAM BUND, Esqre of Wick in the county of Worcester.   One of the most affectionate of wives and mothers, thankful for all Gods mercies and breathing love to all around. She departed this life, October the 13th 1856, in her 87th year.   They left issue three sons, George, William and Francis? and one daughter, Elizabeth, married to Robert Bidduleh?, ??? ?bury in the county of Hereford, another ?? ?? havind died in the sixth year of ?? ?? Leicestershire, November 11th.
