St Peter ad Vincula translates to St Peter in Chains, and this is one of just a few in the country with this dedication - one of which was a parish church (now a Chapel Royal) within the walls of the Tower of London. === This church was bombed on 16th September 1940, when the nave roof, north arcading and north aisle roof were destroyed (see images below).
Keeping this site ad-free, with extensive photography of Essex's churches, involves real costs in hosting and travel. If you've found it useful or enjoyable, a small contribution via Buy Me a Coffee would be hugely appreciated.
