To the glory of God and the beloved memory of Richard William Mark Lockwood, 2nd Lieut. Coldstream Guards, killed in action at the Battle of the Aisne on the 14th September 1914, and buried at Soupir, France. Only son of Robert Lockwood and grandson of General Mark Wood of Bishops Hall in this parish. His life for his country, his soul to God.
